Job 42:7-17

Head:

Apparently, Job’s friends were privy to the conversation the Lord had with Job because God now turns His attention to the friends. Job returns to his role of interceding. Now instead of interceding for his children, he intercedes for his friends. Other friends and family of Job appear out nowhere and seek to bless Job. In the end, Job is blessed with double the material possessions he owned before his tragic ordeal. He also is given ten more children.

Heart:

What might the friends have thought when God turned His attention to them? Do you think it was humbling of them to be told to take their sacrifices to Job so he could offer them? That Job’s prayer would be accepted, not their own? What scars or remembrances do you think Job took with him for the rest of his life? As he regained and then surpassed his former blessed state, how do you think it affected his faith and walk with God?

Hands:

What do you learn from looking at the lives of other Christians? How do you learn lessons from your own life? How does what God teaches you one day affect the rest of your life?

Habits:

Most likely Job returned to his regular pattern of interceding for his kids as they grew up. How do you restart spiritual habits like Bible reading, prayer, and church attendance if your pattern ever gets broken?
