PREPARING FOR WORSHIP
Every 5th Sunday, Eastwood has what we call a “User-Driven Service.” This just means that we get people within the congregation to lead the service in various ways. Sometimes the youth leads worship and preaches. Sometimes a deacon will preach and someone else will lead worship. Next week, the church will lead by helping with the planning process. Much thought and prayer goes into planning the songs that we use for worship. We would love for you to take part in that. Find Cole and tell him about a song that the Lord has been using in your life lately, along with some scripture references you’ve found that are the foundation of the song.
Prepare for worship this week by praying that God will help you understand what it means to truly worship him. As you listen to various worship songs this week, ask yourself, “Why am I singing these words? What is the meaning of this song? Where in scripture can I find the idea that this song is portraying?”
“Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
Colossians 3:16 (CSB)
