Day 16: Sheep

 Verses: John 1:36

Back Then: A lamb was the sacrifice for atonement. It was the sacrifice of the Passover when God spared His people. Without atonement for sins, there can be no forgiveness. Jesus ended every sacrifice when He became the payment for our sins.

Today: We no longer use the sacrificial system like in the Old Testament. Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and to make us right with God. His one death covers all our sins past, present, and future.

Family Talk: If you could be any animal for one day, which animal would you like to be?

Picture Help: The lamb goes below the stable. I put it as if it came with the shepherds from the grassy country on the left. It doesn't really matter where it goes. Something about the idea of even the animals (all creation) taking notice of the birth of Jesus seems right. In actuality, there is no indication creatures responded to Jesus in this unique way, but a picture can be made to convey what will be and what He was worthy of.
