Day 23: Manger
Verses: Luke 2:7
Back Then: Mangers were feeding troughs for animals. Jesus was not born in a hospital. There was no sign placed in the yard. There were no blue balloons. He came without fanfare.
Today: We sometimes get caught up with how big or how loud and event is. Christmas isn’t special because of the presents, the food, the business, or anything else. Christmas is special because God became a person, was born and laid in a manger.
Family Talk: If you could get rid of any obligations you have this Christmas, what would it be? The noise, the turkey, the car-ride, etc.?
Picture Help: If there is no room in the inn or the stable for the manger, repaint you people. Or you could paint up to where they are and it will look kind of like they are sitting in front of the manger.
